Paediatric hand and upper limb conditions can impact a child’s development and interaction with the world. They may be congenital or acquired (following trauma or infection). Early diagnosis and treatment aims to optimise function and appearance for your child and their future.
Children’s hands are still growing. This must always be kept in mind, and makes their treatment different from adult practice. From imaging, casting and splinting, to therapy and surgery if recommended; Dr Tolerton will talk you through the diagnosis and treatment specific to your child and their hand condition.
Dr Tolerton also consults and operates at both tertiary referral centres for congenital/paediatric hand surgery in Sydney, that being Sydney Children’s Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
